  • Fourth generation family farmer and vintner Gina Fernandes Harfman is crafting collectible wines from the Black Sage Bench in Oliver BC. In a vintage where a wine reveals itself as most special, and highest quality, Gina assigns this wine to her Family Collection. At her woman-owned and run Nostalgia Wines, Gina invites you to make moments with what she has captured in the bottle, and create tomorrow’s memories.

Our home vineyard Chardonnay coats the palate with notes of canned peach, Asian pear, and Honeycrisp apple. It’s refreshing, with a velvety texture and notes of candied orange, lemon meringue pie, and crème brûlée. A hint of lime zest carries the long finish.

Enjoy our Family Collection Chardonnay paired with mushroom risotto, triple cream cheese, crab and lobster dishes, or try this Chicken Marsala recipe.

All of our home vineyard is cared for under Gina's watchful eye throughout the year. Grapes are hand-picked, then hand-sorted before a very gentle pressing. We used a combination of stainless steel barrels (66%), new French oak (16.5%) and second use French oak (16.5%) to attain the perfect balance of freshness, bolstered by the texture and complexity of a delicate touch of oak.

It fermented and aged in the barrels (oak or stainless) for a total of 7 months. During fermentation, we did plenty of battonage (stirring of the yeast) to bring out the biscuit and pastry notes, adding more complexity and texture.

This is a wine that will continue to improve with time. It was bottled July 2022, and can be enjoyed now or held for 3-5 years. For maximum enjoyment today, we recommend decanting, or give it a good swirl in a large, stemmed glass, and serve around 12C (let up warm up from fridge temperature for 20-30 minutes). Only 140 cases produced.

Award: Silver Medal, 2023 Savor NorthWest Wine Competition
